ABOUT MINIMTOTS
Minimtots was founded in 1992 and has now been running in Ware for 27 years. It is a small privately owned children's music group which gives a personal service which Iarge franchised groups cannot give.
Minimtots is a music group which is based on Early Years outcomes, preparing children for the transition to Nursery or pre-school.
Minimtots is run and owned by myself Suzanne Tarbuck, I live in Ware with my husband and 3 children. I am a qualified Nursery Nurse and Inclusion Lead at a local school. I am a qualified first aider and fully insured with the Pre -School Learning Alliance. I have many years experience with children of all ages and I welcome all children with special needs.
Each class runs for 30 minutes with refreshments afterwards for the child and carer. This is a time for the children and their carers to chat together over a cuppa and a biscuit. All refreshments are included in the termly fee.
We welcome babies and children from birth to school age in our mixed age classes.
We use tambourines, castanets, maracas, drums, triangles, wrist bells, sleigh bells and puppets.
Different instruments are used each week on a 2 week timetable incorporating songs and rhymes. We always have a warming up song as well as our Minimtot Hello and Goodbye song. We sing every session about the weather and the days of the week as well as counting and number rhymes. Songs are based around the seasons and are fun and upbeat.
Research has found that music making activities can play a vital role in learning and development , and no where is this truer than pre-school and early years. Such activities can help improve listening and concentration and the development of language skills and act as a confidence booster for the children who participate.
The skills learnt will help the children in areas such as personal, social and emotional development, communication, language, listening and even maths.
A warm welcome awaits...
